Landmark Court Victories

• Court of Appeal Victory – One of the Largest Increases in Singapore Divorce Appeals (from 25% to 75%) – In TQU v TQT [2020] SGCA 08, the High Court initially awarded the husband just 25% of $13.6 million in matrimonial assets.  He turned to our family law team for assistance in his appeal. As a result of our efforts, the Court of Appeal increased his share to 75%, marking a dramatic rise from the original 25%, and potentially one of the largest increases in legal history. In its 60-page judgment, the Court described the case as “complicated,” “challenging,” and “highly unusual,” underscoring the case’s legal complexity.
• $41 million in assets successfully protected from divorce division – PKWA Law acted for the Husband in a high-net worth divorce where the Wife sought to include $41 million in assets and inheritance funds as part of the matrimonial assets for division. We successfully protected the Husband’s assets of $41 million from being included in the matrimonial assets.
• Court of Appeal Win – Leading Case Under New Division Framework
  In Twiss, Christopher James Hans v Twiss, Yvonne Prendergast [2015] SGCA 52, we acted in one of the earliest Court of Appeal cases applying Singapore’s revised framework for the division of matrimonial assets. We successfully obtained an increased share for our client, helping shape the development of this area of law.
• High Court Success – 72.5% Share in Contested Divorce
  In XIK v XIL [2025] SGHCF 16, we represented the husband in a contested divorce and secured 72.5% of the matrimonial assets, amounting to $2.7 million.
• $6 Million Award for Homemaker in Long-Running Case
  In [2024] SGHC(A) 11, we obtained over $6.3 million in matrimonial assets for a homemaker after a six-year legal battle. Our client prevailed against a five-member legal team led by a Senior Counsel, underscoring the complex nature of the litigation.
